Don Becker
Inducted 2019

Don Becker joined the BRA in 1984 and managed his beloved Pittsburgh Pirates until he was forced to retire after the 2013 season due to illness. Don was one of the most well respected and well liked managers in BRA history. He lead his Pirates to four League Championships in 1989, 1991, 1997 and again in 2006.
Don also served as Vice-President for the majority of BRA tenure as he served as Jack Kohn's right hand man. Don worked on the yearly database, ran drafts, was the league statistician along with being the first point of contact for any technical issues with the DMB game itself. If there was an issue in the BRA, the first call was always to Don.
Don graduated from Ohio University and served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, including a tour in Vietnam. Don retired with the rank of Lt. Colonel.
Upon retirement from the Air Force Don joined his long time friend Jack Kohn as the Circulation Manager at the Folsom Telegraph News from 1981 to 1992. As he did in the BRA, Don served as Jacks right hand man.

Upon leaving the Newspaper business Don and Jack opened the Golden Era Baseball Card shop from 1992 to 2002, turning their lifelong passion and hobby into a thriving business.
Don and his wife Judy raised a pair of sons, Bradley and Robert.
Don passed away in 2017 at the age of 78. He is sorely missed.
